Jay has been a life long resident of Walpole, having graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1972. He graduated from the New England Institute Of Embalming with the class of 1977. In the Fall of 1977, he was granted his Embalmer's License and in the spring of 1978 was granted his Funeral Director's License. Having completed his training in school, Jay went to work at O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home in Worcester, in order to get a different perspective on the funeral business.

Jay left the family business for awhile and worked for almost 8 years with Whirlpool Corporation, he spent some time in the Portland, Maine office and then came back to Boston as the branch operations manager. Jay left that position in April of 1987 and bought the funeral home from his father on July 27, 1987.

Jay is the father of James L. "Jim" Delaney and Colleen M. Delaney both of Walpole. Jim is also his partner at the funeral home. Jay resides on School Street directly behind the funeral home.

Jay is a member of the Walpole Lions Club, Walpole Chamber of Commerce, the Mass Cruisers ( a car club) , the Walpole Knights of Columbus Council 1319, former member of the Walpole Scholarship Committee, former Board of Directors for the Chamber.

Jay is an elected member of the Walpole Housing Authority.

Jay has taught Embalming, Anatomical Dissection and Mortuary Law at the New England Institute at Mount Ida College. Later he taught Ethics and Current Topics in Funeral Service at the Funeral Institute of the Northeast.

James L. (Jim) Delaney

Jim is a 2002 graduate of Walpole High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 2007 with a degree in Psychology.

Then following in his grandfather's and father's footsteps he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the New England Institute (NEI) at Mount Ida College with a degree in Funeral Service in 2009. He was also the recipient of the Dodge Award, which is the NEI Founders Award.

Jim is a member of Pi Sigma Eta, the national honor society for funeral service, the Walpole Lions Club, and is both a member of and on the Board of Directors of the Walpole Chamber of Commerce.

He is a life long resident of Walpole.
