MaryJo H. (Weinkauf) Lebel

April 12, 1958 ~ October 18, 2019 (age 61)

Obituary

MaryJo H. (Weinkauf) Lebel, age 61, passed away in the Norwood Hospital on Friday, October 18, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on April 12, 1958, she was the daughter of Frederick W. and Joan M. (DeMichele) Weinkauf.  She was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1978.  Following graduation, MaryJo took a position with the Codex Corporation in Mansfield, working as an electronics assembler.

MaryJo married her beloved husband, Brian M. Lebel, on June 1, 1984 in Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole.  The young couple made their home together for a brief time in Walpole before settling in Norwood, where they spent the next twenty years.  After Codex closed in 1996, MaryJo transitioned into the role of an at home caretaker, always ensuring her husband, Brian, was well cared for.  In 2007, MaryJo returned to her beloved hometown of Walpole, bringing her family closer together.

While she devoted her life to caring for Brian, MaryJo enjoyed staying busy outside of her home too.  In tribute to her parents, Fred and Joan, she was a long-time member of the Walpole VFW Post 5188 Ladies Auxiliary and regularly volunteered her time with the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Hospital.  She loved sports, and enjoyed cheering on her favorite New England Teams, the Red Sox and the Patriots. As a woman who was very proud of her Italian heritage, MaryJo was a member of the Italian American Club in Walpole and loved playing bocce with her friends in two different leagues.  In addition to bocce, MaryJo was a member of the Italian American Bowling League at the Norwood Sports Center, spending every Wednesday night on the lanes.  However, more than anything, MaryJo was truly devoted to her family.  In addition to caring for Brian, she took an active role in caring for her grandparents and after her father, Fred, passed away, she always kept a close watch over her mother, Joan.  Her nieces and nephews were her greatest delight, and MaryJo loved being able to babysit them when they were young.  The babysitting tradition continued with the arrival of her great nieces and nephews, as MaryJo loved being surrounded by them.
