Patricia R. (Rush) Spaulding, age 85, passed away in Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Mildred K. (McCarthy) Rush. She was raised in the Allston area of Boston and graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School in Brighton with the Class of 1952. While in high school, Patricia found her passion for playing piano. She regularly played concerts in the West End of Boston and was noticed by the Sheraton Company. Patricia quickly earned a position with Sheraton, working as a professional piano player in their Northeast territory.
Patricia married her beloved husband, John G. Spaulding, on March 24, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The young couple made their home together in Sharon, Massachusetts, where Patricia took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. In addition to caring for her children, Patricia took a part time position in the real estate business and spent countless hours volunteering her time. She donated her time to the Sharon Historical Society, Norwood Hospital, and regularly worked the Polls in Sharon. In her later years, she loved spending her winter months in Florida, first in Deltona and later at the Villages. However, her volunteerism did not end at home in Sharon, as she enjoyed playing piano in various hospitals in Florida. While Patricia did keep a very busy schedule, she always made time for a round of golf at the Sharon Country Club.
