Albert J. Ricci, Jr.

RICCI, ALBERT J. of Walpole, Onset and Naples, FL passed from the loving arms of his family on September 3, 2026.

Born to Albert and Josephine (DePasquale) on July 9, 1937, Al was a loving husband for over 63 years to his childhood sweetheart and love of his life Marilyn (Power). Al was a proud and dedicated father, always ready to teach, guide and nurture his 3 children Lorreen of Waltham and Naples, FL; John(Deborah) of Walpole and Kristin(Paul) of Norfolk.

He always looked forward to holiday dinners and vacations spent with his 7 grandchildren, the Hollingsworths, Sarah(Pat) of Dedham, Brad of Quincy and Emily of Chicago; the Riccis, Nicholas and Mason of Walpole; the Wosnys, Ryan and Sean of Norfolk; and his great-granddaughter, Eleanor Doherty of Dedham.

Born and raised in Roslindale, Al lived his life with honesty and integrity. He was a veteran of the Army and after his honorable discharge, he attended Newbury College and Northeastern University where he honed his computer skills. After graduation, Al worked for 16.5 years for Polaroid starting out at an entry-level position and working his way up to Computer Programmer where his analytical skills were put to good use solving many technical problems. After leaving Polaroid, Al went on to be a consultant for several of Boston’s Fortune 500 companies.

Al was an avid sports fan. He loved them all, but the Red Sox were his favorite. He was a loyal fan who suffered with their losses and rejoiced with their wins. He could rattle off the stats of any player. Florida was Al’s Happy Place but while enjoying his retirement in Naples, in 2022 Al was treated for pancreatitis. Returning to Boston, Al was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was under the medical care of the highly skilled doctors and the remarkably compassionate and kind Nurses at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This dedicated team improved and extended Al’s quality of life for over 4 years. Cancer is a battle and Al fought it like any warrior.

He is predeceased by his sister, Elaine Stearns(Richard) and his sisters-in-law, Patricia McCarthy(George), Barbara VanMeter(Van), Carol Power, and Toni Ricci(Ralph).

He is survived by his brother Jim(Marie) of Mansfield, Ralph and Paul Ricci of Plymouth as well as his extended family of many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, long-time friends and, of course, his Wordle Family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Al's Life Celebration on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
