Alice Blanche Reeley

Alice Blanche (Kerr) Reeley, age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on May 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Walter Baniford and Blanche Olive (Mitchell) Kerr. Alice was raised on the family farm in Walpole, Massachusetts, developing a strong work ethic early in life. She graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to continue her studies at Framingham State College, earning her bachelor's degree in 1962.

Alice's teaching career began at the George A. Plimpton School in Walpole, working as a kindergarten teacher. As Alice’s family grew, welcoming her sons Ken, Bill, and Walter, she sought out a new opportunity and co-founded the South Walpole Community Preschool where she spent countless hours caring for children in the classrooms, giving them a wonderful head start on their educational goals.

Alice married her beloved husband, Angus M. Reeley, on December 17, 1975, in her spiritual home, the South Walpole United Methodist Church. Shortly thereafter, Alice, Angus, and the children embarked on an adventure, moving overseas to make their home in Scotland and added a daughter Joyce to the family. In 1979, the whole family returned to Walpole where another son, Douglas was born. Alice continued teaching at the South Walpole Community Preschool. After teaching Alice continued as the director of the preschool until her retirement in 2009. After retirement, Alice loved being invited back to the school that she helped found, graciously volunteering to play the piano for all the school concerts.

Throughout her life, Alice was a huge Country Music fan, taking countless trips to Nashville, Tennessee to see her favorite stars. Alice always looked forward to the Highland Games held at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire. Alice could be found listening to the pipers and cheering on Joyce competing in the dancing competitions. Alice loved spending time in her flower gardens, soaking in all the beauty that nature provided. She also devoted time and energy at South Walpole United Methodist Church, building the community and connecting with her fellow members. More than anything, Alice was dedicated to her family. She loved watching her children grow up and was delighted at the births of her grandchildren.
