Angeline Joan (Sacramona) Balzi, age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at All American Assisted Living in Raynham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 18, 1939, she was the daughter of James and Angeline (Cibotti) Sacramona. Angeline was raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts and attended Saint Raphael’s School, graduating with the class of 1957.
Angeline, or Nina as she was lovingly known, met her future husband when they were just children, growing up on the same street, just a few houses apart. She only had eyes for him, and after he returned from serving in the military, Nina married the love of her life, Louis J. Balzi, on October 30, 1960, in Most Precious Blood Church in Hyde Park. The newlyweds made their married home in Hyde Park before leaving the city for the nearby suburb of Medfield, Massachusetts to raise a family.
Nina loved being a wife and mother. She was the type of mother you could share anything with, knowing she would keep your secrets and would always be there for you when you needed her the most. She remained calm and composed, even when the children were up to no good, though she was famous for warning them to "wait until your father gets home!" and waving her oversized decorative wooden spoon at them. As her children grew older, her relationship with them only strengthened. Judy considered Nina to be her best friend, and the mother daughter team bowled together every Wednesday night for years.
After 40 years in Medfield, Nina and Louis moved down to Sagamore Beach on Cape Cod. They loved living near the water and took advantage of the many golf courses nearby, learning and enjoying the game of golf together. They remained on the Cape until 2020, when they relocated to East Walpole, Massachusetts to be closer to family.
Nina held a variety of jobs over the years, including working alongside Louis at the family liquor store. When she got her license, she explored other employment options, working at a bank and at Anton's cleaners. Her favorite job was at the Christmastree Shop at the Sagamore Bridge. Nina loved the people she worked with including her husband! Every day Nina would come home from work, take off her smock that was adorned with dozens of lively pins, and share her haul for the day - always managing to find fun trinkets and knickknacks on sale for an exceptional price which she could display along with her beloved bell collection.
Nina will be remembered for her kindness, as she was a woman with a heart of gold. She was funny and kind, a protective Mama Bear, and the most wonderful mother and wife you could ask for. She and Louis remained inseparable, her loyalty and love for him unwavering, all their lives, at last reunited once more.
Beloved wife of Louis J. Balzi.
Loving mother of Judith A. Glover of Richmond, Virginia, Louis J. Balzi Jr. and his wife Stacey of East Walpole, Carol Ann Bowen and her husband Michael of Taunton, and the late Joseph Balzi.
Cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Lauren, Jordan, Krystal, Christopher, and Emma; and great-grandmother of Amir, Brooklyn, Laiyah, and Brielle.
Sister of the late Elizabeth Amara, Patricia McGillis, and James Sacramona Jr.
