Anna J. Cassis

July 31, 1924 — July 29, 2018

Anna J. (Moschitto) Cassis, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Josephine (Gianino) Moschitto. She was raised and educated in the West End of Boston. After attending high school, Anna quickly went to work, supporting the war effort, stitching military uniforms during World War II.

Anna married the love of her life, Eugene G. Cassis, on April 27, 1946, making their home together in South Boston until moving to Hyde Park in 1960. As she already had some experience in the clothing industry, Anna found work with White Clothing Manufacturing in Boston. After welcoming her son, Eugene, Jr., she took on the role of a homemaker, but still enjoyed working part time in clothing design. In 1969, Anna returned to work in retail sales at Sears Roebuck in Dedham and completed her career as a successful sales person in the television and stereo sales department.

After her retirement in 1979, Anna enjoyed traveling the world, visiting locations across the United States, Europe, and Japan. In addition, she found a love for cruises, visiting many ports across the Caribbean. Throughout her life, Anna was devoted to her church and for many years was a parishioner at Saint Joseph's Church in Hyde Park, where she was a member of the choir and the entertainment group, the Jolly Aces. After settling in Walpole, Massachusetts in 2000, she joined Blessed Sacrament Church, becoming a member of the prayer group and funeral choir.
