November 22, 1930 — June 26, 2018

Antonio DeSantis, age 87, passed away in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Introdacqua, Italy on November 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Franco and Maria (Matese) DeSantis. Tony was raised and educated in Italy, before immigrating to Venezuela after the end of World War II. Tony then immigrated to Massachusetts after seven years in Venezuela.

Tony briefly returned to Introdacqua where he married his beloved wife, Rosa, on June 11, 1961 and the young couple then made their home together in Dorchester Massachusetts. As his career as a crane operator began to develop, Tony moved his young family to Walpole, Massachusetts in 1971. He retired in 1992, after many years of dedicated work.

He enjoyed gardening in the summers, and was especially proud of his beautiful tomatoes, which he loved to share. He also loved and looked forward to his weekly visits with his brothers and making wine annually. He loved company and was always welcoming to the guests in his home.
