Audrey Joan McKelvey, age 90, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 4, 2026 at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Needham, Massachusetts on February 3, 1936, she was the daughter of late John D. Weber and Josephine (Katuzney) Scannell.
Audrey attended Needham High, finishing in 1954, before setting her sights on a career as a flight attendant, graduating from the Bay State Junior College of Business air stewardess program. However, a blind date led to a whirlwind romance with Charlie "Sonny" Paglicco, and Audrey made the decision to keep both feet on the ground. They married just one year after they first met, in 1956.
The couple moved to Roslindale and started their family, welcoming their children Donna, Chuck, and Paula, before moving to Walpole in 1974, where they would remain. Audrey kept their home before transitioning to the workforce, taking a position as the warehouse supervisor for the International Ladies Garment Union. Unfortunately, after 42 years of marriage, Sonny passed away in 1998.
Audrey persevered as a loving mother, grandmother and member of her community. She perfected many recipes, well known by both family and friends for her impressive skills in the kitchen. But as luck would have it, love would find her again at the Lafayette House, where she asked Bob McKelvey to join her on the dance floor. One dance led to many, and they married in 2008.
Along with a great love for her family and community, Audrey also loved animals, donating to animal shelters and herself raising many beloved cats, including Baby and Bee, who has been a source of constant love, joy, and companionship.
In her later years, Audrey was able to travel, spending time in Hawaii, Greece, Portugal, Monte Carlo, and many other destinations too numerous to name. She also began to spend the winters in Naples, Florida, where she volunteered at the Naples Art Council and the Shy Wolf Sanctuary.
When not globetrotting or volunteering, she could be found deep in a Debbie Macomber or Nora Roberts novel, enjoying a Hallmark romance, or watching tennis or golf. She loved puzzles, and was especially fond of Scrabble games with her sister Dee.
But above all, Audrey leaves a lasting legacy of generosity. Her family and friends will miss the constant little gifts and her neighbors will miss her blueberry muffins. Perhaps the only people that will miss her as much as her family are the numerous charities to which she donated constantly over her whole life, especially St. Jude's and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late Charles "Sonny" Paglicco and the late Robert "Bob" McKelvey Jr.
Loving mother of Donna Greenberg and her husband David of Foxborough, Charles "Chuck" Paglicco and his wife Rita of Bradenton, Florida, and Paula Driscoll of Medfield.
Cherished grandmother of Eric and his partner Rachel, Josh and his wife Katie, Allison and her husband Paul, Charles Jr. and his wife Abby, Andrew and his wife Brittany, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Johnny, as well as great grandchildren Logan, Emily, Maddy, Liam, Ayden, Ava, Jackson, Ella, and Rollins.
Twin sister of Delores "Dee" Chaput of Hull.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Audrey's Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 7th, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park.
