Austin A. Toole, Jr.

Austin A. Toole, Jr., 62, of Norton, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023 after a difficult battle with cancer. Loving, hilarious, and generous, Austin was a beloved husband, father, gramps, brother, uncle, and friend. His final moments were spent at home surrounded by his family.

Raised in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Austin was the fourth of six Toole children born to the late Evelyn and Austin Toole Sr. As the first boy in the lineup, he was best known for his kindness and love of mischief.

After attending Providence College, Austin moved to Massachusetts and spent the bulk of his career at Samtec, where he met lifelong friends and spent years traveling around the world.

He and Dani Toole raised their three children in Sharon, Massachusetts. Austin will be remembered by his kids as a devoted, loving, and endlessly supportive father and grandfather to Scarlett Jane.

In 2009, he met the love of his life, Kim Kiely, who he married in a surprise backyard ceremony eleven years after their first introduction. Their love was filled with adventure, warmth, true friendship, and much laughter.

Austin filled his days with a long list of favorite pastimes. He loved golf, fishing, hunting, and a good cigar, but mostly spending time with family and his incredibly funny and supportive friends. In the past year, Austin and his family looked towards the silver linings and did their best to make every day a happy one. Their time was spent traveling to Florida, Nantucket, Provincetown, Vermont, and Grand Cayman.

Austin is survived by his wife, Kim (Kiely); his three children, Jake Toole (Jane), Samantha Brodsky (Jack), and Sarah Toole; his step-daughter, Kiely McGill; his granddaughter, Scarlett Brodsky; all five of his siblings, Susan O’Halloran (Tim), Mary Ellen Wians (Stu), Elizabeth Larcom (Chuck), Carolyn Bancroft (Glenn), Stephen Toole, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

We will miss Austin every day, but will remember him for talking over every single movie, finishing your punch line, his goofy videos, his love for his bulldog Rosie, his obsession with schnitzel, and his persistent messaging on Instagram.

A wake will be held on December 1st from 4-7pm at the James Delaney and Son Funeral Home, 48 Common, Street, Walpole, MA. The funeral service will be held on December 2nd at 10am at The United Church, 30 Common Street, Walpole.
