Barbara E. Malley

Barbara E. (Mientka) Malley, age 91, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at her daughter's home in Sharon, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on March 3, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Helen (Ryan) Mientka.  Barbara was raised in Holyoke, where she graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the Class of 1950.

Barbara went on to make her home in the City of Boston, first in the West Roxbury neighborhood and later in Dorchester and Roslindale, taking on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family.  In 1961, Barbara left the city behind, making her home in the small suburban town of Walpole, where she raised her four children.  As her children grew up, Barbara began her working career, taking a position with Metal Bellows in Walpole, serving as an executive assistant.  She remained loyal to her company through the buyouts and name changes to Zurn Industries and later Pfizer.

After her youngest graduated high school in 1977, Barbara moved to Foxborough, where she met the love of her life, Raymond Edward Malley.  Barbara and Ray were married on May 28, 1988, at Saint Mary's Church in Foxborough, making their home in town until moving to Plainville in 2015.

Throughout her life, Barbara loved spending time outdoors, whether tending to her flower gardens around her home or walking around her neighborhood.  While out on her walk, very often Barbara would prune her neighbor's flower beds, ensuring the block always looked nice.   Back at home, as an avid Boston sports fan, Barbara looked forward to watching the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins with Ray by her side.  Most of all, Barbara was devoted to her family, treasuring the moments she spent with those she loved.
