Barbara Ann Marchand

May 5, 1934 — September 23, 2022

Barbara Ann (Mazza) Marchand, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2022, at her granddaughter's home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Dedham, Massachusetts on May 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Rosa (Juliano) Mazza.  She was raised in Dedham, where she graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1952.

Following her graduation, Barbara married her beloved husband, Richard E. Marchand, on July 6, 1952, in Saint Mary's Church in Dedham.  Together they made their home in Hyde Park, where Barbara took on the role of a homemaker, caring for her family.  Three years later, in 1955, Barbara and Richard left the city, settling in the small suburban town of Walpole, Massachusetts, where they raised their daughter, Debra.  As Debbie grew up, Barbara took a position with Koehler Industries in Walpole, where she worked for over ten years.  Even while working a full-time job, Barbara always maintained an immaculately clean home.  She recognized her talent and began offering her cleaning services to many in her community during her retirement.  In addition to keeping the inside of her home clean, Barbara always made sure the outside was just as tidy.  She could be found giving her driveway a daily sweep or tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed staying active in and around her community.  She was an avid walker, covering many miles and greeting countless people as she went along.  On any given day, Barbara could be found at the Walpole Senior Center, spending time with friends.  Back at home, as an avid Boston sports fan, she loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots.  Barbara enjoyed some quiet time too, solving crossword puzzles or preparing her famous Italian meatballs in her kitchen.  Most of all, Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Richard E. Marchand.

Loving mother of Debra Dugdale of East Walpole.

Mother-in-law of Thomas A. Dugdale of Walpole.
