Bruce Joseph Blais, age 63, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home in Hudson, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on February 6, 1963, he was the son of the late Alonzo Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Blais (Marino). Bruce was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, earning the nickname "Chugga" before graduating from Walpole High School with the Class of 1981. After graduation, Bruce began his career in the automotive repair field, taking courses at ITT Technical Institute in Chelsea and quickly finding a job at Muzi Ford City.
While working at Muzi’s, Bruce noticed one of the receptionists, Cindy Kay, who had a window overlooking the shop, and it truly was love at first sight. Bruce and Cindy were married on November 13, 1993, at the Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The young couple initially made their home together in Walpole before settling in Derry, New Hampshire a few years later. Six years later, Bruce and Cindy set down their roots in Hudson, New Hampshire, where they raised three children, Amanda, Ashley, and Alexander.
Bruce continued making the commute to Muzi Ford City and then later accepted a position at Framingham Ford, where he would finish out his career. He was truly a master at his craft, taking on repairs both big and small, always ensuring his customers were safe and satisfied. Bruce remained loyal to the company through the McGovern buyout, taking a step back only recently to a part-time position.
When he wasn't hard at work, Bruce enjoyed an opportunity to be creative in his home workshop. He was a woodworking enthusiast, building furniture and making repairs, and could often be found making art through carving. His creative skills did not stop at the door of his shop, as he found peace in being an oil painter and would often surprise his wife with a handwritten poem just for her. Bruce also loved the outdoors, whether casting his line, trying to reel in a big bass or hitting the links trying to perfect his golf game. He and his wife Cindy, treasured their time away in Northern New Hampshire at Chocorua Camping Village, where they would spend their summer months together.
More than anything, Bruce was a dedicated family man, who loved spending time with his three kids. When his son, Alex, was young, Bruce proudly volunteered to be a baseball coach, teaching his team how to have fun and laugh while playing the game they loved. Bruce also spent time coaching his kids off the baseball field including walking Ashley through numerous car troubles, discussing all points of view with any problem Amanda faced, and imparting as much wisdom and advice that he could to anyone that would listen. As the family continued to grow, welcoming Amanda’s fiancé, Ben, into the family, Bruce truly enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.
Beloved husband of Cynthia Ann Blais (Kay).
Loving father of Amanda Rose Blais and her fiancé, Benjamin Craig Silvia, of New Bedford, Ashley Elizabeth Blais of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Alexander James Blais of Hudson, New Hampshire.
Brother of the late David A. Blais, the late Maxx (Mary Jo) Blais, and the late Laura J. Long.
Uncle of Matthew Joseph Long of Walpole, MA.
