Carol Ann Walsh

Carol Ann (MacNeil) Walsh, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at New Pond Village in Walpole, Massachusetts.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (MacDonald) MacNeil.  Carol was raised in Norwood, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1961.  Following her graduation, Carol enrolled in Quincy Junior College, earning the title of Registered Nurse.  Carol's nursing career began at Norwood Hospital, where she took a position in the Pediatric Department.

Carol married her beloved husband, John J. Walsh, on August 7, 1965, at her home parish of Saint Catherine of Siena in Norwood.  Together, they made their home in Walpole, first on Elm Street, where they welcomed two sons, John, Jr., and David, before settling on Fern Drive and welcoming their daughter, Lyn.  Carol's career brought her to Newton Wellesley Hospital and later to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where she helped countless children overcome their hospital stays.

Throughout her life, Carol loved spending time with her family.  As a young mother, she and John packed their children into their Volkswagen Bus, traveling up and down the East and West Coasts, visiting every state except for the Dakotas.  The family also made several trips to Canada, learning about their ancestry along the way.  Back at home in Walpole, Carol looked forward to opening her home to her children and grandchildren for holidays and special events, treasuring every moment she spent with those she loved.

Beloved wife of John J. Walsh, Sr.

Loving mother of Dr. John J. Walsh, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Plymouth, David P. Walsh and his wife, Xue, of Stoughton, and Lyn Marie Russo of Foxborough.
