Carole Ann (Redmond) Connor — A Life of Faith, Love and Caring

Carole Ann (Redmond) Connor, 82, of East Walpole, Massachusetts, entered her eternal rest with Jesus on the morning of October 26, 2026. She passed away peacefully in the family home, where she had lived since 1972, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Carole’s life was defined by her faith in Christ, her devotion to family and the extraordinary love she gave to so many.

Born in Boston on January 7, 1944, Carole was the third of eight children for the late Thomas Redmond and the late Mary Rita (Flanagan) Redmond. On August 17, 1963, she married her beloved husband Edward Connor, as they took their first steps together on a journey that lasted more than 63 years.

The happy couple quickly and lovingly built a life and family together, welcoming three sons in 1964, 1965 and 1971. They are Edward Connor, Jr. of Framingham, Massachusetts, and his wife Ann; Brian Connor of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and his wife Nancy; and Thomas Connor of Walpole, Massachusetts, and his wife Crista.

Carole’s extended family eventually grew to include 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. They include Kevin (and fiancée Justine), Joey, Ryan (and fiancée Wixie), Sarah (and husband Bryce), Sean (and wife Alexis) Jack (and fiancée Aubrey), Bekah, Julia (and fiancée Tom), Tommy, Livvy, T.J., Bella, Charley, Harry and Iris. Each one became a cherished part of her life, as did her dozens of nieces, nephews and their children. They all experienced firsthand how “Auntie Carole's” love extended far beyond her home.

She also is survived by her sister Judy (Redmond) Orlando and husband Fred; sister Rita (Redmond) Parvey and husband Mal; sister Patti (Redmond) Coughlin; brother Jack Redmond and wife Carol; brother-in-law Ed Morley; sister-in-law Jean (Connor) Gurrisi; and sister-in-law Peggy (Lawlor) Connor.

In addition to her parents, Carole was predeceased by two brothers Thomas Redmond and Paul Redmond; sister Joan (Redmond) Morley; mother-in-law Louise (O’Shaughnessy) Connor; sister-in-law Barbara (Connor) Manning; three brothers-in-law Gerry Manning, Bill Connor and Bill Gurrisi; and five nephews Bill Gurrisi, Jr., Bobby Gurrisi, Joe Manning, Jim Manning, and Billy Connor, Jr.

Carole was an exceptional wife, mother and homemaker. But her ability to nurture and care for children became a calling that touched the lives of many, including the Anderson family of Needham, Massachusetts. For 16 years, she served as “nanny” to Hannah, Cort and Eliza — loving and caring for them as members of her own extended family.

To those who knew and loved her, Carole was much more than a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, nanny and friend. She was a remarkable example of Christ’s love. Her kindness and concern for others touched generations of family members and friends. Her life proved that one person can make an extraordinary impact through their faith and devotion to God.

Her family will remember her as one of the finest examples of love, compassion and caring they have ever known. Carole's life will remain one of the clearest illustrations of what it means to love others well. Her legacy lives on, not only in the children she raised and cared for, but also in the many lives shaped by her warmth, generosity and kindness.

Carole embodied everything that reflects a life fully devoted to faith in Jesus. Her concern for the hurting and vulnerable, particularly children, revealed a heart that found joy in nurturing, encouraging and blessing those entrusted to her. She showed that a life of lasting significance is not measured by titles, degrees or professional accomplishments but, instead, by the love we give, the people we serve and the faith we live out each day.

Though Alzheimer’s disease ultimately complicated Carole's final years, her great legacy is not found in worldly achievements. Her illness could not diminish the life she lived, the smile she shared or the love she gave. For generations, the memories she created, the lives she touched and the faith she cherished will remain in the hearts and minds of those whom Carole loved so deeply.

The Connor family wants to thank the staff of HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, especially nurses Courtney and Jen, for the outstanding love and support they provided to Carole, Ed and their sons in her final days. You were a blessing to us.
