Charles G. Reeves, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on September 4, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles James Reeves, Jr. and Marguerite T. (Fitzgerald) Reeves. Charlie was raised in Dedham, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1963. Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Ethiopia for a year and a half, serving as a communication center specialist. He was honorably discharged in January of 1971, having earned the rank of Sergeant.

Upon his return home to civilian life, Charlie took a position with the New England Telephone Company, putting the education he received in the service to work. He was assigned to the installation division, running wires, and making connections to ensure all the telecommunication equipment worked flawlessly. Charlie remained loyal to the company through the various name changes, retiring as a proud Verizon employee.

Throughout his life, Charlie was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed following the New York teams, including the Yankees and Giants. Not one to sit at home, Charlie loved spending the day at the Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood, trying to perfect his game on the course. He served in various capacities on the board of the club, including serving as president from 1999 to 2000. As a lifelong member, he loved socializing with his friends and acquaintances at club events and functions.

Devoted brother of Paul M. Reeves (Anne) of Ormond Beach, Florida, and the late Robert J. Reeves (Joanne (Keeshan) of Marshfield.

Loving uncle of Mark Reeves (William Gadney-Reeves), Samantha Bennett (McCrae), Kimberly Reeves (Adam Roseboom) all of Florida, Kyle Reeves (Sara) of Cohasset, Massachusetts, and Corie Reeves Petzy (Luke) of Grand Haven, Michigan; and great uncle of Henry Bennett, Everly Roseboom, Lauren (Lola), Kiera, and Bodhi Reeves and Lily Petzy.

Also survived by his family, by friendship, Elizabeth and Daniel Birchall of Dedham, Massachusetts and his many good friends who were his adopted family at the Norfolk Golf Club.
