Christopher Arnoldo Quintanilla

Christopher Arnoldo Quintanilla, age 44, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 2, 1982, he was the son of Arnoldo and Doreen Marie (Corey) Quintanilla.

Chris was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, with his younger brothers, Anthony, Michael, and Thomas, watching over them with tough love, just as an older brother should. His education brought him to Walpole High School, where Chris graduated with the Class of 2001. Following his graduation, Chris began his plumbing career with Superior Plumbing in Westwood. He received on the job training through his apprenticeship and studied to pass his journeyman's exam, becoming a licensed plumber. Chris worked his way up to the role of foreman and looked after his co-workers with the big brother tough love. He was the first one to show up for anyone on the job who needed help but was also quick to make light of the situation, bringing the tension level down. His love for helping others extended well past his working day, as Chris always put everyone else first. Whether family, friend, or complete stranger, Chris jumped in with both feet to do anything he could to help, build, or repair - he truly could fix anything.

Throughout his life, Chris loved staying active and especially loved being outdoors. He looked forward to casting his fishing line into the Charles River, trying to catch a bass that would outshine his brother's fish. Later he began chartering boats out of Marina Bay, venturing out into Boston Harbor looking to reel in a big striper or lobster. He had some luck this past Sunday, pulling in a big one, but was also able to catch a bird and a hook in his own thumb in the process. Chris also enjoyed taking part in Savage Races with his brothers up and down the East Coast. It was usually a quick trip, packing into the car on Friday night, running the race on Saturday morning, and driving home Saturday night, a true adventure.

His travel adventures were not limited to car rides, Chris took several trips outside the US, visiting destinations in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. He always came back with great stories, making everyone laugh. Chris had a way of making everyone in the room laugh, from "borrowing" phones to taking selfies to taste testing everyone's drinks, his pranks were legendary. Even through injuries such as being hit by a car, not once but twice, cutting his arm open, or even getting a hook stuck in his hand, Chris didn't complain, but rather found a way to crack a joke and bring smiles to everyone's face.

More than anything, Chris was devoted to his family, so much so that he saved every Christmas card that he received from them. He loved spending time with his parents and brothers, reminding them of how loved they were with early morning birthday greetings, lending a hand to move into a new house, or taking the emergency call that something needed immediate repair. After meeting his fiancé, Yolanda, Chris knew he found the one. Together they welcomed two children, Jack and Sofia, and Chris was so excited to watch them grow up. He applied the same tough love to both of his kids, with perhaps a bit more tenderness, always encouraging them in all aspects. Chris brought his family to one of his happy places, Mexico, on two separate occasions, showing Yolanda and his kids what made this place so special to him. Back at home, Chris loved taking his kids on car rides, zooming around and cranking the radio up loud, or venturing out on the boat with them, teaching them how to cast a line.

Cherished brother of Anthony A. Quintanilla and his wife Nicole of Framingham, Michael A. Quintanilla and his wife Chelsea of Southborough, and Thomas A. Quintanilla and his fiancé Jenna Furlong of Marlborough.

Uncle of Matthew, Annabella, Olivia, and Ellie.

Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Chris' visitation on Monday, August 17th, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, at 11:00 am in Saint Catherine's Church, 547 Washington Street (at Nahatan Street), Norwood. Interment will take place privately at the request of Chris' family.
