Claire Elizabeth Wolfram

August 20, 1939 — February 9, 2021

Claire Elizabeth (Regan) Wolfram, age 81, passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with illness.  Claire was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 20, 1939.  She was the daughter of Catherine (McGrath) Regan and Jeremiah Regan and the youngest of twelve children. She earned her RN from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor and Masters degrees in nursing from Boston College. Claire shared and cherished lifelong friendships with those she befriended in nursing school.

Claire married Gordon Conrad Wolfram on August 5, 1967 at Saint Theresa – Avila Catholic Church in West Roxbury. They settled down in Westwood and later moved to Walpole, Massachusetts where they raised their three children. Claire and Gordan had been married for forty-nine years when Gordon passed away, with Claire by his side, in 2016.

Claire knew from an early age that she wanted to be a nurse. Her career spanned decades and was a profession that epitomized who she was both in her personal and professional life. Claire was always there to support all whom she met with a loving hand, kind act, or word.  Without hesitation, Claire opened her heart and home to all.  Claire was a practicing nurse for many years in both the community and hospital setting. Later in her career, Claire shared her joy of nursing by teaching at her alma mater, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Claire was a very involved member of her local community, regularly volunteering through her church and serving on the Board of Health for the Town of Walpole. Throughout her life, she was a never-ending source of support and love for her immediate family, her beloved brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, and her friends. In her free time, Claire loved to read, go shopping, play golf, travel the world, and enjoying time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and many friends both old and new. After Gordon’s passing, Claire shared her love of travel with her family, on a trip to Puerto Rico with all her children and grandchildren.

Claire was the beloved wife of Gordon Conrad Wolfram. Loving mother of Mariclare Gudas of Wellington, Florida, Karen Wolfram-Namiotka of Kennebunkport, Maine, and Gerard Wolfram of Ashland and mother-in-law to Robert Abramson, Michael Namiotka and Courtney Wolfram. Cherished grandmother of Kayleigh, Nathan and Jamie Gudas, Serenity, Collin and Zackary Namiotka, and Garrett and Owen Wolfram, and devoted aunt of Brian Robsham and his wife Jennifer of Franklin. Claire was sister to her eleven beloved siblings, deceased Esther Flynn, John Regan, Jeremiah Regan, Joseph Regan, Mary Regan, James Regan, and surviving, Eleanor Woods of Falmouth, Rita Mawn of Gloucester, Lillian Mahoney of Franklin, Mildred Wognar of Sandwich, and William Regan of Maryland.  Claire is also survived by countless nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Claire’s visitation on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

As a result of the ongoing and ever developing health crisis in the world, Claire’s Funeral Mass and interment in the Westwood Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of Claire’s favorite charities Cadigan Alumni Center – Boston College The Connell School of Nursing Fund, 140 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
