David Robert Jones

David Robert Jones, age 46, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on December 31, 1979, he was the son of Anthony and Deborah (Dyer) Sperdigliozzi. A lifelong resident of Walpole, David attended Walpole High School, graduating with the class of 1998. After high school, David attended Framingham State College, receiving his bachelor's degree in biology in 2002.

David was a devoted employee at Siemens Healthineers, working there for almost half of his life. He worked in manufacturing, rising to the role of production manager during his 19 years with the company. Prior to working for Siemens, David worked for Rainforest Reptile Shows. For six years he amazed crowds both young and old, introducing them to various critters including his favorite alligator, Fluffy.

In 2008, David met the love of his life, Mallory Astrella, at a social event. The pair were wed three years later, on December 10, 2011, in Norwood. The young couple made their married home in Walpole and soon began to grow their family. Over the coming years, David and Mallory were blessed with five children; Alexa, Jason, Shayne, Max, and Kyle. David was thrilled to be a father and more than anything in the world, loved spending time with his wife and children.

David shared his passions with the kids and encouraged them to pursue their own interests. A practitioner of Krav Maga, David loved that his kids were interested in karate, and often watched them practice. He also enjoyed fishing, and taught the kids how to fish. When possible, David liked to travel, visiting places near like New Hampshire and far like Mexico. As a family, David, Mallory, and the kids loved visiting theme parks, especially Disney World. David's love of fishing and his love of theme parks came together during one Disney trip, when he got to see Jason catch his very first fish there. At home, David relaxed by listening to music like Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, and the Beastie Boys, his playlists numbering in the thousands. He was also a big Boston sports fan; always up for attending a local Patriots or Celtics game with friends. David also enjoyed golfing and hiking, especially in the North Conway and Mount Champlain, New Hampshire area. At the end of the day, David was happiest wherever his family was, savoring every moment spent together.

Loving father of Alexa Jones, Jason Jones, Shayne Jones, Max Jones, and Kyle Jones.

Cherished son of Anthony and Deborah (Dyer) Sperdigliozzi.

Brother of Brian Jones, Robert Jones, and Christal Walsh.

Also survived by many extended friends, relatives, and colleagues.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend David's visitation on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Interment will be private.
