She was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1975. Following her graduation, Diane began taking classes at Massasoit Community College.
Diane married William J. "Okie" O'Connell and together they made their home in Seekonk, Massachusetts, where they welcomed three children, Gregory, Kevin, and Cory. When she wasn't working in a restaurant, Diane loved being at home with her children. She spent countless hours with them poolside, looked forward to beach trips all summer long, and their family vacations to Point Sebago. As her children's number one fan, Diane was always sure to attend their sporting and school events.
