Donna Helena Moses

December 26, 1946 — May 5, 2022

Donna Helena (Bethoney) Moses, age 75, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, on December 26, 1946, Donna was the daughter of the late Fred J. and Helen (Solomon) Bethoney. She was raised in the South End of Boston until her parents moved to West Roxbury.

Donna married her beloved husband, James, on June 12, 1966.  They had been together since the age of 14. They settled in West Roxbury, where they raised their 7 children until moving to the small town of Norfolk in 1986.  They shared the same family values and made wonderful memories in their new home.

Donna insisted on celebrating all of her family’s special events.  Her family was truly her wealth, and she took every opportunity to acknowledge them.

They celebrated many family vacations at Hampton Beach, NH until migrating to York, ME where they were known to takeover a hotel or two and orchestrate dance parties on the beach.  Those moments were the ones that Donna cherished most, telling anyone who would listen how rich she was to have such a wonderful family.

Donna’s role as a homemaker, was one she cherished.  She valued her Lebanese heritage and passed her traditions onto her children and grandchildren, teaching them about Arabic music, dancing, cooking and all the endearing phrases she often used. Every week, Donna could be found cooking with her grandchildren, each proudly wearing Sitho’s smocks, and learning her secret recipes.

While Donna's life was dedicated to her family, she had a special devotion to her faith, and the Blessed Mother.

Beloved wife of James G. Moses.

Loving mother of Vikki-Lynn Castellano and her husband, Joseph, of Roslindale, Andrea J. Edmonston and her husband, Daniel, of Norfolk, Helena B.
