Dorothy Jane Amos

Dorothy "Dolly” Jane (Hardiman) Amos, age 91, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Grace (Worral) Hardiman. Dolly was raised in Boston but cherished every opportunity to spend time with her grandmother in Dedham.

Dolly married the love of her life, Henry Robert Amos, on April 29, 1956, in Saint Mary's Church in Dedham. The young couple made their home in Dedham, where Dolly took on the role of a homemaker, lovingly, raising and caring for her four children. As her family grew up, Dolly returned to the working world, taking various part time customer service roles. Back at home, Dolly loved spending time outdoors, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and later she made her home in Norfolk.

Living in the suburbs allowed Dolly to enjoy the outdoors and she looked forward to taking nature walks and watching the local wildlife. When she wasn't out walking, Dolly could often be found cheering on her hometown teams, the Patriots and the Bruins. Dolly also enjoyed the company of the many friends she made over the years at Hillcrest Village.

Beloved wife of the late Henry R. "Bob" Amos.

Loving mother of Donna M. Berry of Wareham, Doreen J. Amos of Plainville, Debra L. Thomas and her late husband, Kevin, of Walpole, and Henry Robert "Bobby" Amos Jr. of Palm Bay, Florida.

Cherished grandmother of ten and great grandmother of ten.

Sister of Thomas "Chickie" Hardiman of Hyde Park, the late Richard Hardiman, the late Joyce Mock, the late Ralph Hardiman, and the late Marcia Hardiman.

At the request of Dorothy's family, all services will be held privately with interment taking place at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
