Dorothy Ann Cameron

Dorothy Ann (Troccoli) Cameron, age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at her daughter’s home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on November 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Josephine Ruth (Sestito) Troccoli. Dorothy was raised in Malden, Massachusetts and graduated from the Malden Girls Catholic High School with the class of 1948.

Dorothy married the love of her life, David Roland Cameron on October 4, 1953, at the Church of Immaculate Conception in her hometown of Malden. After their wedding, Dorothy and David made their home in Atlanta, Georgia, where Dorothy took on the role of homemaker and mother. David's career would bring them back up to the Northeast, residing for some time in Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as Cheshire, Connecticut, before settling into Walpole, Massachusetts in 1961, where they would raise their family.

As her children grew older and attended school, Dorothy joined her husband and son Doug in working at the Mahoney and Wright Insurance Agency in town as a secretary, helping to schedule appointments and ensuring the office was in order. She remained with the company for many years until her retirement in 1995.

In addition to her career, Dorothy also found community in Walpole. She enjoyed time with her High St neighborhood friends, and volunteering at the Blessed Sacrament Church. She used her sewing skills to sew baptismal bibs as well as confirmation banners.

Dorothy found great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking an active role in their lives, including sewing American Girl doll clothes for her granddaughters and sharing her love of baking. She was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies, whoopie pies, and red velvet cake. She instilled an annual tradition of gathering the family together to make homemade ravioli for the holidays. Dorothy was also a talented artist who loved to paint China teacups and create clay sculptures.
