Dorothy W. Jensen

Dorothy W. (Johnstone) Jensen, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Twin Oaks Nursing Center in Danvers, Massachusetts.  Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Elizabeth (Ried) Johnstone.  She was raised in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, where she graduated from Stellarton High School with the Class of 1953. 

After immigrating to the United States of America, Dorothy made her home in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where she welcomed her children, Daniel and Brenda.  Dorothy married her beloved husband, Richard O. Jensen, in 1967 and together they made their home in South Walpole, Massachusetts, blending their families together.  As a young mother, Dorothy worked part time as a waitress at the Village Inn and Venice Café both in Norwood, however, as her children grew up, she took a full-time position with the Northrop Corporation in Norwood, working as an electronics assembler.  Dorothy moved to Wrentham in the late 1980s, and later returned to Walpole in 1998.  While home was in Walpole, Dorothy was a longtime supporter of the VFW Post 2452 in Norwood, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. 

Beloved wife of the late Richard O. Jensen.

Loving mother of Daniel R. Graham and his wife, Gail Anderson, of Lynn, David Jensen and his wife, Bobbie Slice, of South Carolina, and the late Brenda E. Roberts and her late husband, James.

Stepmother of Richard F. Jensen and his wife, Eileen, of East Walpole, Carolyn Jensen Mahaffey and her husband, Keith, of Texas, Stephen Jensen and his wife, Jeanette, of Foxborough, and the late Janet M. Jensen.

Cherished grandmother of five.

Sister of the late Betty MacPherson, the late Roberta Oliver, and the late Jerry Johnstone.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Dorothy's visitation on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 10 to 11:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will take place in Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
