Edward Hollingsworth "Buzzy" Jennings

February 1, 1939 — May 1, 2020

Edward Hollingsworth "Buzzy" Jennings, age 81, passed away in Norwood Hospital on Friday, May 1, 2020.  Born in his Spring Street home in Walpole, Massachusetts on February 1, 1939, he was the son of the late John William and Margaret Elizabeth (Sullivan) Jennings.  He was raised with his 8 brothers and sisters in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1956.  Following his graduation, Buzzy enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country.  He was stationed at the United States Naval Station in Rota, Spain and was honorably discharged in December of 1959. Upon his return home to Walpole, Buzzy took a position with the Sturgis Company, building doors and windows.

Buzzy married his beloved wife, Dorothy Theresa Bisdnack, on October 3, 1964 in Saint Timothy's Church in Norwood.  The couple made thier home together in Walpole and Buzzy's career brought him to the Polaroid Company, first working in Waltham then in New Bedford, before retiring from their Norwood location.

As a handy man, Buzzy enjoyed working on various projects around his home in Walpole.  Over the years he crafted both a shed and gazebo, in addition to working on many other projects and improvements.  In addition to staying physically active, Buzzy ensured his mind was always sharp, regularly completing crossword puzzles and memorizing all of his favorite athletic team's statistics.

Beloved husband of Dorothy Theresa (Bisdnack) Jennings.
Loving brother of Elinor Ober of Walpole, the late Catherine Timmins, the late Betty Stevens, the late Mary Grow, the late Sonny Jennings, the late Paul Jennings, the late Dicky Jennings, and the late Euretta Crown.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and our community and with genuine concern for the well-being of all involved, Buzzy’s family has decided that his visitation and funeral services will be private.  Interment will take place in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Walpole Area VNA, P.O. Box 252, Walpole, MA 02081 or The Walpole Food Pantry, P.O. Box 43, Walpole, MA 02081.
