Eleanor Ann Colarossi

Eleanor Ann Colarossi, age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at The German Center in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Vanda Rose (Bernacca) Colarossi. Eleanor was raised in East Boston, where she graduated from East Boston High School with the Class of 1950.

Following her graduation, Eleanor took a position with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston, working as a statistician and making her home in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of the city. Her career brought her to destinations all over the country, helping to launch new offices and build the overall organization. With her career on track, Eleanor went on to make her home in Hyde Park and later in Norwood, before settling in Walpole, Massachusetts. More recently, she made her home in Westwood.

Eleanor's travel adventures did not end with her career. She looked forward to countless trips, visiting destinations around the world, including points in Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Back at home, as the winter set in, Eleanor often took advantage of the fresh powder on the mountains in North Conway, New Hampshire, skiing throughout the season. She was a founding member of the Otter Ski Club in New Hampshire, often bringing her nieces and nephews to the slopes to enjoy a few runs.

Most of all, Eleanor was devoted to her family and adored spending time with her nieces and nephews. No matter where she was, Eleanor was sure to have fun and loved having her family and friends by her side. Eleanor and her sister, Adele, purchased a cottage “The Cape House” in Dennisport and together they enjoyed over forty years of entertaining the entire family and many friends.

Sister of the late Robert Colarossi, the late Anthony Colarossi, and the late Adele Cooper.

Survived by her niece Daryl and Stephen Smith, niece Lynda and Patrick Powers, great niece Jessica Smith and Craig Mitchell, great niece Tina and Nick Clifford, great nephew Stephen and Melanie Smith, great nephew PJ and Erika Powers, and great niece Kayla Powers.
