Ellen J. Connors

Ellen J. Connors passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2026. Ellen was the devoted wife of Herbert Connors, IV whom she was married to for 28 years.

Ellen grew up in Abington, MA, the daughter of Gunther Jahnke and the late Jean Jahnke. She graduated from Abington High School and played clarinet in the marching band.

Ellen earned her MBA from Simmons College Graduate School of Management before beginning a lifelong career in banking, and mortgage lending which spanned over forty years. Most recently, she was a senior loan officer with CMG Home Loans. Ellen was a trusted professional who was passionate about educating and helping her clients make informed decisions. She cared deeply and generously, shared her time and knowledge, and always put her clients first. She truly enjoyed engaging with her clients by getting to know them on a personal level. Ellen loved working with the elderly and enjoyed listening to their stories; she was patient and compassionate.

Ellen was a proud member of several local business groups from the South Shore to the South Coast and Cape Cod where she shared her knowledge with colleagues and her community through educational programs on banking and reverse mortgages, volunteer work, and networking.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ellen was a “foodie” who would spend hours researching recipes and enjoyed cooking and baking at home and with friends using top notch ingredients. Ellen knew the names of kitchen gadgets and specialty products that most people had never heard of and used them all to create her delightful dishes. It brought Ellen joy to share her knowledge and creations generously with others.

Ellen loved being on the Cape, boating, and traveling to swap meets with Herb where they met many wonderful friends. She loved tending to her gardens and enjoyed making beautiful floral arrangements. During the winter, Ellen would gather branches, greenery, and berries to make floral baskets for her home.

Ellen leaves behind a legacy not only through the many clients and colleagues she has helped but through the family and friends whom she cared so deeply for.

She is survived by her father, sibling, and several cousins. Ellen cherished her close friendships, especially with her cousin, Kathy Perron and her family, her dear friend, Pat Lynch and her entire family, along with her lifelong friend, Susan Paul. She also held a special place in her heart for beloved Doberman, Jessie.

A celebration of Ellen’s life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole, MA. Funeral will be at 11:00 AM on October 9, 2026 at Rock Ridge Cemetery, 101 East Street, Sharon, MA.
