Emilio "Mimi" P. Baldassari, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on April 10, 1926, he was the son of Annibale and Casilda (Alphonsi) Baldassari. Emilio was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1944.
After graduation, Emilio entered the United States Army, proudly serving in the European theater during World War II as a Sergeant with the 37th Tank Battalion.
Emilio married Rose J. Melo on September 13, 1953. The couple made their home in Walpole where they would raise three children. Emilio worked for J & A Cleaners before taking a machinist position with the Foxboro Company from which he retired in the early 1990's.
In his free time, Emilio loved to work in his yard, planting trees and tending his flower gardens. He also enjoyed trips with his family to the beach. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching at home as well as occasional games at Fenway Park.
Beloved husband of the late Rose J. (Melo) Baldassari
Loving father of Joanne Baldassari, and her partner Rick Owens, of Belmont, Carol Toole, and her late husband Bill, of Texas, and the late Michael Baldassari.
Cherished grandfather of Magdalen Marrone, and her husband Mike, and Galen Toole, and his wife Amanda; and great grandfather of Addyson and Emerson.
Brother of the late Angelina Palladini, and her husband Tony, Edward Baldassari, and his wife Evelyn, and Lea Baldassari.
Uncle to James Baldassari, and his wife Karen, and John Baldassari; and great uncle to Matthew Baldassari. His in-laws live in Franklin, Massachusetts
At the request of Emilio's family, all funeral services will be private. Interment will occur at Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
