Francis Joseph Kenney, age 71, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Sachem Center for Health and Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 19, 1953, he was the son of the late Francis Robert and Rita Jean (Griffin) Kenney. Frank spent his early years in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, before his family settled in Randolph, Massachusetts. Following his graduation from Boston Trade High School in 1972, Frank enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War.
Frank received his honorable discharge from the Army in 1974 and returned to his hometown of Randolph. His career began with the United States Postal Service, working as a sorter at the office just outside the Museum of Science in Boston. With his career focused in the city, in the late 1970s, Frank made his home in Hyde Park neighborhood, where he welcomed his daughter, Jennifer. In the late 1980s, he began taking technical courses at Bay State School of Appliances, learning various trades to help him accelerate his career.
Frank's career brought him to the Veterans Administration Hospital, first in West Roxbury, and later in Jamaica Plain, where he used the skills he learned in technical school to become a facilities manager. Ultimately, Frank took a position with City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, where he was responsible for the irrigation systems in the parks as well as some of the flower plantings to make everything look beautiful. Frank would turn on the water bubblers at various parks also at George Wright Golf Course, in the City of Boston. As his career progressed with the city, Frank moved from Hyde Park to West Roxbury, where he made his home for many years. Frank retired from the Parks and Recreation Department in 2007, with more than ten years of service to the citizens of Boston. More recently, in 2015, Frank left the city behind, making his home in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
Throughout his life, Frank had a loved for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and while he may not have owned one, he appreciated the freedom that they stood for. More than anything, Frank looked forward to spending time with his family. He was delighted at the birth of his grandsons, enjoying a treat of coffee and donuts whenever they came to visit.

Cherished grandfather of Scott Lynch, Jr. and Kyle Lynch, both of Norwood.
Also survived by several cousins.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Frank's visitation on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
At the request of Frank's family, his funeral service will be held privately, with interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Salem.
