Francis Morris

Francis "Frank” J. Morris, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts, after a brief illness.  Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Francis and Jane (Simpson) Morris.  He spent his early years in Fall River, before settling with his family in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where he graduated from Portsmouth High School with the Class of 1968.  Frank enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He was stationed aboard the USS Mississinewa, serving as a Fireman (FN).  He was honorably discharged in September of 1971, however remained in the Naval Reserve until 1974.  Following his discharge, Frank returned home to Portsmouth and began coursework at the Rhode Island School of Electronics.

Frank married his beloved wife, Mary Diane Berkeley, on September 6, 1975.  Together they made their home in Plainville, Massachusetts before settling in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1978.  Frank spent many years in the electronics field, taking various courses at Northeastern University to further his knowledge and understanding.  Most recently, he worked at RMD in Watertown, Massachusetts, spending six years as an electronic technician, retiring in 2012.

When Frank wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed spending time at the Sharon Gun Club, where he was a member for many years.  In more recent years, he looked forward to gathering with his friends at the Walpole Senior Center to play pool.  In addition, Frank was an avid photographer, and enjoyed finding the perfect shot with his camera.

Loving father of Brian Francis Morris and his wife, Kristen, of Boxborough and Michael Joseph Morris and his wife, Michelle, of Bellingham.
Cherished grandfather of Camryn Jayne Morris, Samuel Francis Morris, and Mya Jane Morris.
Brother of Robert Bruce Morris, and the late Paul Morris.
Also survived by his niece, Jessica Lynn Putnam and her husband, Jay, of Warren, Rhode Island.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Frank's memorial visitation on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

Interment will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:30 PM
