Frederick Joseph Corcoran Jr., age 83, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Beth Israel Lahey Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 13, 1942, he was the son of Frederick Joseph and Dorothy Virginia (Connelly) Corcoran. Fred was raised in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts until he was 13 years old, with his family moving to the nearby neighborhood of Roslindale. He attended Roslindale High School, graduating with the class of 1960.

A devout Catholic, Fred was a member of the CYO at Saint John Chrysostom in Roslindale, later joining the adult Chi-Rho organization where he would meet his future wife. Three years after they met, Fred married the love of his life, Virginia M. "Ginger" DuBois, on April 16, 1966, at Saint Mary's Church in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Fred and Ginger made their home in Lynn, Massachusetts, later moving to the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston as well as Dedham, growing their family along the way. Their family expanded from two to five, joyfully welcoming the births of their children Stephen, Denise, and Brian. During this time, Fred was a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, both prepared and willing to serve and support his country for many years.

In the early 1970's, the Corcoran family moved to East Walpole, Massachusetts. They made their spiritual home at Saint Mary's Church in East Walpole, where Fred would serve as a Eucharistic Minister. He also served as a member of the Finance Committee as well as assisting with the collection counts each Tuesday.

Fred held a variety of jobs over the years, starting his career at B.F. Goodrich in Lynn. He left the company later working with and for companies such as Zayre, Lechmere, Caldor's, Ames, as well as Ann and Hope. Every now and then he would treat the kids by allowing them to join him on a day at work, seeing the ins and outs of the business world and reveling in their excitement. In the early 1990's, friends connected him with BJ's Wholesale Club, which he happily worked with until 2005. Following his time at BJ’s Fred formed his own company, WGH Marketing. The WGH stood for "With God's Help", or "With Ginger's Help" depending on who you asked. Through his own company, Fred helped independent manufacturers with their sales to BJ's Wholesale Club exclusively ever since.

He and Ginger raised three well-rounded children. Their home became a central gathering place for family and friends, where he would happily man the grill and take in all the excitement of being together. Fred loved to socialize, as he had a big personality, and a big presence. Nothing gave him more joy and pride than his children and grandchildren.

In his free time, Fred enjoyed watching sports, following all the Boston teams as well as Notre Dame. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Council 1319, in Walpole. A member for close to a decade, he was honored to hold the role of Treasurer for the past three years.

Fred and Ginger loved visiting New Hampshire, especially with their Han-Cor Family. Han-Cor being short for Hannigan and Corcoran, Fred's first cousins and their families on his father’s side. He looked forward to their vacations with regular trips to Jackson Village, with adventures to Italy and Alaska, and a river cruise among notable trips. These gatherings extended to Fred and Ginger's Matha's Vineyard home as well. The home they purchased in Edgartown in the 1990's, quickly became both Fred and Ginger's happy place. They loved everything about being there, even the traffic and tourists, often visiting Lookout Tavern, Norton Point, and the Dairy Queen. It was a blessing to be able to share this place they loved so much with their family and friends.
