Gerald David "Gerry" Fox, age 90, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Serenity Hill Skilled Nursing Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Leo F. and Catherine K (Cryan) Fox. Gerry was raised in Lowell, where he graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1952. Following his graduation, Gerry enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country. He was stationed with the 51st Ordinance Group Headquarters in Germany. While serving in Germany, Gerry married his beloved wife, Elfriede Hartung, and at the conclusion of his tour, the young couple made their home together in El Paso, Texas. Gerry quickly re-enlisted and was stationed with the Artillery Board in El Paso, Texas, serving an additional three years in the Army. 

Upon his discharge, Gerry and Elfriede moved back north to Massachusetts, initially making their home in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy. Once settled, Gerry began his career in design engineering, working for various engineering companies throughout Massachusetts. In 1964, Gerry moved his family to the small suburban town of Walpole, Massachusetts, and began taking night courses at Lincoln College to further his career. He went on to become a sought-after self-employed consultant, dedicating many years to his career.

Beloved husband of 54 years to the late Elfriede (Hartung) Fox.

Loving father of Christine Fox of Walpole, the late Anthony "Toni" Fox, and the late Gabriele Foley.

Cherished grandfather of Christopher Palmquist and his wife, April, Jason Palmquist and his wife, Lindsey, Jennifer Foley, Crystal Fox, Eric Fox, and the late Colette Foley; and great grandfather to many.

Brother of the late Robert Fox, the late Richard Fox, and the late Fred Fox.

Also survived by a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Gerry's visitation on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerry's name may be made to: The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, c/o Sister Margaret Magee, P.O. Box W, St. Bonaventure, New York 14778.
