Gerald F. O'Leary

Gerald F. O'Leary, age 83, passed away in his East Walpole, Massachusetts home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on November 3, 1934, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary F. (Stapleton) O'Leary. He was raised in Norwood, attending Saint Catherine's Elementary School before graduating from Norwood High School with the Class of 1953. Gerald continued his education at Boston College, earning his Bachelor's Degree in 1957.

After graduation, Gerald enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and began working various job as a furniture mover. He later took a position with Bekins Moving and Storage, as a truck driver, and joined the Teamsters Union, Local 25. Gerald continued working various moving jobs until his retirement in 2004.

Gerald enjoyed working on and around his home in East Walpole, which he purchased in 1975. He could be found cultivating his gardens or making various repairs as necessary after work. He enjoyed quiet time too, always keeping a good book by his side. Most of all, he was a dedicated family man, who would do anything for those he loved.

Cherished grandfather of Amber R. O'Leary.
Former husband of Roseann B. (Zablowski) Ralli and her husband Raymond.
Brother of the late James T. O'Leary, Michael H. O'Leary, Thomas H. O'Leary, Helen V. Poirier, Mary Gustafson, and Elaine T. Gardner.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Gerald's Life Celebration on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 2 to 5 PM and Monday, May 7, 2018 from 10 to 10:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole, MA 02081. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Parkinson Disease Association, 72 East Concord Street, Room C3, Boston, MA 02118.
