Geraldine Marie (Boudreau) Sullivan, age 89, of Wrentham, Massachusetts (formerly of Dedham) passed into eternal life on Friday, August 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston on June 13, 1935 and raised in West Roxbury, she was the daughter of Edward and Helen (Laskey) Boudreau.
In 1947 at the age of 12, Gerry would meet the love of her life, Lawrence (Larry) Gerald Sullivan. The pair kept in touch over the years, writing letters to each other when Larry was overseas with the military.
Gerry attended Roslindale High School, graduating in the class of 1952 and began working for Boston Edison as a secretary.
In 1954, Gerry proudly joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves, ready to serve her country if the need arose. Her relationship with Larry continued to grow. On October 1, 1955, the pair were wed at Saint Theresa's Church in West Roxbury. They initially made their married home in Brockton, where they began to raise their family and Gerry took on the full-time role of home maker. She was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps with the rank of Private First Class in 1957.
Gerry and Larry's family continued to grow and in 1967 the young family moved to Dedham. She was a devoted mother, whose station wagon was always packed with kids, bringing them from activity to activity. Gerry was selfless, always putting her children's needs first, and making sure that they never wanted for anything.
She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always thrilled when a new family member came into the world. Gerry loved to celebrate her family but asked for little in return. She often asked that family members donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation rather than shower her with gifts on holidays. She, however, loved to give gifts to others and see their eyes light up with joy.
In 1985, as most of her children had grown, Gerry returned to working outside of the home as an office manager for Roslindale Pediatrics where she loved seeing the kids and their families for twenty-one years before retiring. In 2018, Gerry and Larry settled into their new home in Wrentham.
The pair loved traveling, with countless memorable trips including Alaska, the Mediterranean, and Bermuda among others. Gerry loved spending time with her family and friends and writing long, heartfelt letters with her beautiful penmanship. She also loved visits to White Horse Beach in Plymouth and walks on Castle Island.
