Paul Gregory Parquette, age 72, unexpectedly passed away on August 19, 2026 at Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth. Born in Norwood on February 15, 1954, he was the son of John Richard and Elizabeth Rita (Laracy) Parquette. Greg was raised on Marguerite Road in Walpole, one of six children. Graduated in 1972 from Walpole High School.
Greg worked at NEC as a field technician and had the opportunity to set up computers and wiring for the World Series of Golf in Akron, Ohio. He enjoyed this for many years. He left NEC to work for Fidelity Investments as a liaison for the client General Motors and retired from Fidelity in 2017.
In 1977, Greg entered Dixie's in Wrentham where he met his future bride Margy. They went ice skating on their first date, which led to many more. Greg and Margy were married on June 1, 1979 at Saint Mary’s Church in Franklin. The newlyweds eventually resided in Franklin starting in 1983. There they grew their family, welcoming their sons John and Mark.
Greg was a wonderful husband and a great father. He was very involved in his son’s sports. He was always volunteering to coach sports starting with pop warner football in Walpole and carried it into Franklin sports with his children.
The Parquette family enjoyed vacationing to the Grand Canyon, Florida, Hilton Head and Arcadia national park. Later after their children had grown, Greg and Margy continued to travel as a pair visiting Montana and other sights in the US.
In his free time, Greg loved to stay active and up to date on local sports. He also stayed active himself, playing golf and riding his bike.
Greg and Margy retired to Plymouth in 2018, he was involved at the Crosswinds Golf Course, running a Redbrook League every Wednesday for years.
There are many ways to describe Greg; loving, funny, kind, passionate, considerate. He was a mischievous son and sibling, a dedicated father and husband; and recently, a loving grandfather.
Beloved husband of Margaret Rose (Hanley) Parquette. Loving father of John Parquette and his wife Laura of Bridgewater, and Mark Parquette of Plymouth. Cherished grandfather of Declan Parquette.
Brother of Jack Parquette and his wife Rita of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Barry Parquette and his late wife Jennifer of Milford, New Hampshire, Beth Parquette and her late husband Charles Davis of North Port, Florida, Mark Parquette and his wife Lana of Deep River, Connecticut, and Martin Parquette and his wife Claire of Walpole.
Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
