Harold J. McGrath

Harold J. "Harry" McGrath, age 72, gained his angel wings on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on August 13, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Helen Katherine "Alice" (Songin) McGrath.  He was raised in East Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1968.

 

Following his graduation, Harry took a position with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 25, in Charlestown.  As proud member of the union, Harry drove tractor trailers for many years, until his retirement in 2005. 

 

Harry leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Kathleen (McCarthy) Tripp-McGrath.

Father of Heidi Valle and her husband, Peter, of Walpole, Corey Z McGrath of South Carolina, Mariah K. Worton and her husband, Chad, of California, Jessica L. Tripp of Dorchester, and the late Jonathan W. Tripp.

Grandfather of Veronica Whyte, Jacob Valle, Sadie Valle all of Walpole, and Greyson McGrath, and Emery McGrath of Washington.

Brother of John J. "Joel" McGrath of Marshfield, Phillip Thomas McGrath of Middleboro, Jean Simmons of Bourne, James A. McGrath of Wrentham, and the late Judith Ann Violet.

Brother-in-law of Michael P. McCarthy and his wife, Monica, of Seekonk.

In addition, Harry will be missed by his dear friend, Simon Dodeman, of Sweden and his beloved snuggle cat, Doc.

 

In honoring Harry's wishes, all services will take place privately.
