Harvey V. Lemovitz

March 11, 1947 — February 4, 2021

Harvey V. Lemovitz, age 73, passed away peacefully in his Norton, Massachusetts home on Thursday, February 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Portland, Maine on March 11, 1947, he was the son of Daniel and Rose (Lerman) Lemovitz.  He was raised in Biddeford, Maine, where he graduated from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1965.  Following his graduation, Harvey enrolled in Northeastern University's Business Program, earning his bachelor's degree in 1970.  With his degree in hand, Harvey took a position with Ace Carbon Paper in Boston, working in the accounting department.  In addition, he enlisted in the National Guard.

A year after his graduation from Northeastern, Harvey married his beloved wife, Clare Cutler, on March 28, 1971 in Uxbridge, Massachusetts.  The young couple made their home together in Newton Highlands and Harvey maintained his position with Ace Carbon Paper through their name change to American Tara Company.  Harvey's dedication to the company was noticed by the management, who asked him to take a transfer to their location in New Jersey.  Eager to enhance his career, Harvey jumped at the opportunity, moving to Jamesburg for three years, after which, he transferred to their Chicago operation, moving his family to Glen Ellen, Illinois.  While living in Illinois, Harvey took advantage of the Keller Graduate School in Chicago, earning his Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 1979.  In 1980, Harvey moved his family back to Massachusetts, settling in the small suburban town of Sharon, as he was appointed president of the American Tara Company's Boston Division.  Unfortunately, a year later, American Tara closed their doors, however, Harvey quickly found work in various locations until taking the controller's position at North Coast Sea Foods in Boston.  Harvey was dedicated to his position with North Coast, but he maintained his dream of being his own boss, which was realized in 2000, when he opened HVL Consulting in his home office in Sharon.  Over the many years of hard work with American Tara and North Coast, Harvey developed a skill set that he employed in his new company, working as a Financial Consultant.  As his company grew, Harvey re branded as FMC in 2001 and in 2003, after taking on partners, he re branded again as FMC Partners. He and his partners later set up an office in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where Harvey dedicated countless hours up until his retirement in 2019.

When Harvey wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed spending time outdoors.  He enjoyed playing tennis, biking and walking the Brewster flats.  He and Clare loved traveling around the world together with both friends and family, making many memories in Europe, Australia, and throughout the United States.  Back in Massachusetts, Harvey and Clare would summer at their Cape home in Brewster, where Harvey took to the sea in his beloved sunfish.  However, most of all, Harvey loved being surrounded by his family and treasured each moment he spent with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Clare (Cutler) Lemovitz.
Loving father of Carol L. Hocking and her husband, Bill, of Easton, David E. Lemovitz and his girlfriend, Nina Furness, of Rockland, and Allison B. Doney and her husband, John, of Hanover.
