Henriette G. Sinclaire

February 19, 1924 — April 12, 2022

Henriette G. (Brodeur) Sinclaire, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts.  Born in Nashua, New Hampshire on February 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Isabelle (Martel) Brodeur.  She was raised in Nashua, where she graduated from St. Louis DeGonzague Catholic High School with the Class of 1942.  Following her graduation, Henriette took a position with Fortin's Florist in Nashua, working as a designer.

Henriette was approached one day by a young man, Robert W. Sinclaire, who asked her out for a date.  To his dismay, she turned him down, noting she had to care for her elderly aunt, a fib to throw Bob off, as she had every intention of attending a Red Sox game in Boston.  To her surprise, Bob spotted her on Tremont Street on the way to the game, foiling her plan.  The couple quickly fell in love and were married in Henriette's hometown church, St. Louis DeGonzague, on November 22, 1947.

She and Bob initially made their home together in Norwood, Massachusetts, where Henriette took a position with the Norwood Co-op, working as a teller.  In 1953, after settling in Walpole and welcoming her children, Henriette took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family.  As Bob began his business, Sinclaire Oil Company, Henriette worked behind the scenes, ensuring her husband's success.  Henriette took her office skills to Pediatric Specialists in Foxborough in 1976, essentially running her son-in-law, Arthur's, practice for many years.  She retired as the bookkeeper of Pediatric Specialists in 2014, at the age of 90.

When she wasn't hard at work, Henriette enjoyed some quiet time at home.  In her younger years, she was an avid reader, and more recently, Henriette enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard.  She also enjoyed learning how to play the organ in her home, taking lessons for several years.  As a devout Catholic, no day was complete without saying prayers for those she loved.  Most of all, Henriette loved being surrounded by her family and was delighted to see her family grow, welcoming her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
