Henry B. Knight, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Boston on June 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Catherine (Finneran) Knight.  Henry was raised in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, where he received his formal education.  At the age of seventeen, Henry left high school to enlist in the Unites States Navy, proudly serving his country at the conclusion of World War II.  He was stationed at the US Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was assigned as an airman apprentice.  Following his honorable discharge in 1948, Henry returned home to Jamaica Plain and began working alongside his father at the family's service station on the VFW Parkway in West Roxbury.  Henry's career brought him to the UPS facility in Brookline Village in 1957, where he found a position driving tractor trailer trucks.  He moved packages all over New England and New York, operating double and even triple trailer trucks.

Henry married his beloved wife, Helena P. Mulcahy, on June 1, 1974, in the Mission Church of Roxbury. Together, they made their home in West Roxbury for a short time, until purchasing their first house in Dedham.  While living in Dedham, Henry and Helena welcomed their son, Mark, and a few years later, the family settled in East Walpole, Massachusetts.  Henry's career continued with UPS, taking a transfer to the Watertown facility before ultimately finding a position at the newly opened facility in Norwood. He provided service to UPS and his customers for forty years before his retirement in 1997.  In his retirement, Henry picked up a part-time job with Michael J. Connolly and Sons in Walpole, driving school buses for class field trips.

While he worked hard, Henry knew how to relax and have fun.  In the late 1970s, he and Helena purchased a vacation home in Laconia, New Hampshire on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee's Weirs Beach, where they loved to spend weekends during the warm weather. However, Henry's favorite destination was Florida, and he looked forward to the seventeen trips he took to Disney World over the course of his life.  Back at home in East Walpole, Henry enjoyed learning about the history surrounding the Civil War or catching up on the latest headline of Fox News.

Beloved husband of Helena P. (Mulcahy) Knight.
Loving father of Mark K. Knight and his girlfriend, Thuan Carson, of Walpole.
Brother of the late Buddy Knight and the late Charlie Knight.
