Jason Frank Perry, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 10, 1975, he was the son of Ronald and Carol (Fonseca) Perry. Jason was raised in Norton, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Norton High School with the Class of 1993. He continued his education at Bridgewater State College, earning his bachelor's degree with a focus on Finance, Business, and Music in 1998. Following his graduation, Jason took a position with State Street Bank in Quincy, working in the funds department. While working at State Street, Jason’s lifelong interest in technology allowed him to transition to a more technical role as a quality assurance engineer, a role in which he continued to grow and thrive during his career at Pegasystems, SmarterTravel, and TripAdvisor.
Throughout his life, music was Jay’s passion. From the moment his older brother Jon introduced him to Black Sabbath, Jay was a lifelong heavy metal fan. He started learning to play guitar as a teenager and was soon playing in a band. Jay never stopped playing; his dedication to music was a constant, and many friends and family will remember him best with a guitar in his hands.
Jason was also passionate about martial arts, studying many different styles throughout his life. Jay met his partner Kathryn at the Learning Center for Martial Arts in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where they were both students. Jason earned his black belt in Shotokan in 2003 from LCMA, an accomplishment that he was very proud of after years of study under different instructors.
Jason and Kathryn shared a long and wonderful relationship filled with music, travel, laughter, and love. They were happiest spending time with friends and their wonderful dog Harley.
Beloved partner of Kathryn VanderWyk.
Devoted son of Ronald and Carol (Fonseca) Perry.
Loving brother of Robert, Kelly, and Jon Rei.
Cherished uncle of Christopher, Joshua, Micah, Jonah, Jamie, Cole, Liam, Darlene, Gabrielle, and Samantha.
Also survived by his many extended family members and loving friends.
At the request of Jason's family, all funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jason's name may be made to any local animal rescue organization.
