John Michael McGrail

John Michael McGrail, age 91, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Elizabeth (Healy) McGrail.  He was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1948.

John enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.  Following his honorable discharge in 1953, John took a position with the Boston Edison as a lineman, where he continued his career until retirement in 1992.

Loving father of Michael McGrail of Mansfield, Daniel McGrail of Walpole, Kathleen Nordstrom and her husband, Eric, of Walpole, Maureen Brown and her partner, Todd Demers, of Connecticut, Anne Marie Lavanchy and her husband, Gene, of Walpole, Sheila McGrail of Plymouth, and Mary Ellen Barry and her husband, Christopher, of Dedham. Survived by eight grandchildren Garrett, Andrew, Jason, Matthew, Ryan, Jack, Brett and Lauren. Brother of Ann Rogers of Walpole and the late Elizabeth Sullivan.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 10 to 11:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Funeral Home Service will follow at 11:30 AM.  Interment will take place privately in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
