John Vincent Orecchio

John Vincent Orecchio, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 11, 1952, he was the son of John Joseph and Anne Dorothy (Ciriello) Orecchio. John was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, and graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1971. After graduation John worked for Raytheon as part of their electronics assembly team. He was also a volunteer at the Norwood Hospital in the central supply department for many years,

In his free time John enjoyed spending time outside. John loved to garden and was known for raising Mimosa trees from seedlings. He would sit by the pool in the sun, soaking up the rays and enjoying the warmth on his skin building up a beautiful golden tan. When John moved into long term care at Newbridge five years ago, he became well known for his daily trips outside, his face lighting up with joy each time. John also enjoyed music, especially the Beatles and Elton John, and sang in the choir at Newbridge. He loved family gatherings and his mother’s delicious Italian cooking. To relax, John participated in all the social activities at NewBridge including jigsaw puzzles, Rummikub, and chess.

Loving brother of Michael L. Orecchio of Florida, and David P. Orecchio, his wife Lisa of Walpole, Massachusetts; and brother-in-law of Sheila Orecchio of Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Cherished uncle of Michelle, Thomas, Brian, Paul and his wife Erin; and great uncle of Emma and Leo.

Also survived by many cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
