Joyce M. Lang

Joyce M. (Healy) Lang, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Westborough Healthcare in Westborough, Massachusetts.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Viola M. (Bowdy) Healy.  She was raised in Dedham, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Ursuline Academy with the Class of 1963.  She later graduated from the Wyndham Secretarial and Finishing School with an Associate degree.   Following her graduation, Joyce modeled for the Carol Nashe Model Agency in Boston.  She later returned to her education, taking courses to obtain her Registered Nurse Degree at LaSalle Junior College.

In 1966, Joyce and her husband, Paul A Lang, of West Roxbury, welcomed their son, Paul A. Lang, Jr., and made their home in Norwood, Massachusetts.   After graduating in 1973 with her RN, she held nursing positions with BLH Electronics in Waltham, MA, and Masoneilan International in Boston, MA.  She later took her skills to Raytheon in Norwood, heading up their employee wellness program.

Throughout her life, Joyce was an activist with various animal rescues and humane societies, always doing her best to provide help for animals in need.  Through her volunteer work, she rescued many feral cats, often taking them into her own home prior to their permanent adoption.  Most of all, Joyce was devoted to her family.  She was a loving daughter and caregiver to her parents and devoted to her son, Paul, and was delighted when he blessed her with three grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 9:00 AM, prior to Joyce's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Saint Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.   Family and friends are invited to Cedar House at 100 Main St. in Walpole following Knollwood services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce's name may be made to the Neponset Valley Humane Society, PO Box 544, Norwood MA 02062.
