Judith A (McGough) "Judi" Rooney, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Harris) McGough. Judi was raised in Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, where she graduated from Saint Joseph's High School with the Class of 1962. Following her graduation, Judi took a secretarial position with an accounting firm in Boston and made her home in Roslindale.
Judi married her beloved husband, John Charles Rooney, on February 24, 1973, in the chapel at Dean College in Franklin. The couple initially made their home in Dorchester, before settling in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1974. Three years later, when she and John welcomed their son, Keith, Judi took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family. She loved being in her kitchen, preparing meals for her family to enjoy together, keeping a well-rounded book of recipes.
As Keith grew up, Judi returned to the working world, taking a position at Bird Middle School in East Walpole, working in the cafeteria. Since she worked school hours and had the summer off, Judi and John purchased a camper that they set up in Douglas, Massachusetts, spending the months of July and August by the lake, soaking in all the natural beauty that surrounded them. Judi followed Keith to Walpole High School, taking a position in the cafeteria where she worked until her retirement in 2004.
Judi and John shared a special relationship and were truly devoted to each other. They looked forward to trips to the area casinos, trying their luck at Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and Twin River. In John's later years, Judi lovingly cared for him and was consistently by his side. After John passed, Judi was uplifted by her closest friends, spending hours on the phone or meeting for an afternoon tea to discuss all that was going on in each other’s lives.

Loving mother of Keith P. Rooney and his wife Angela of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.
