Kevin Robert Hodgman, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on August 29, 1952, and raised in Walpole, MA; he was the son of the late Franklin J. and Jean E. (O'Brien) Hodgman.
Beloved husband of Eileen Florence (Duffy) Hodgman.
Loving father of Kevin Thomas Hodgman of North Attleborough, David Michael Hodgman and his wife, Rebecca, of Plainville, Stephen William Hodgman and his wife, Kristin, of North Attleborough.
Cherished grandfather of Kevin Jr., Avery, David Jr., Dexter, Henrik, Nora, and Margot.
Brother of Patricia Friel of East Falmouth, Robert Hodgman of Hampton, NH, Nancy Ralli of Attleboro, and the late Brian Hodgman.
Kevin dedicated much of his life to the restaurant industry as a Restauranteur and Head Chef. Together with his wife, Eileen, they brought to life their first restaurant, Table for Two in Plainville, MA (1982-1986) and went on to create a local staple, The Tavern from Tower Square in Plainville, MA (1996-2019). He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together through food and found great joy in preparing meals that made others feel welcome and cared for.
Outside of the kitchen, Kevin found happiness surrounded by his grandchildren and attending their various sport events, on the golf course, sitting with a good book in his hands, or soaking up the sun on a tropical island. There was nowhere he felt more at peace than sitting on a warm beach with his adoring wife, Eileen, listening to the waves and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
Those who truly knew Kevin will remember his kindness, unwavering work ethic, compassion, and quiet strength. He lived with generosity, loved deeply, and treated everyone with warmth and respect. His legacy is one of love, family, friendship, and countless memories shares around the table.
Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. His family will ensure that Kevin’s legacy lives on as they continue to gather loved ones and strangers alike around the table for quality time centered around a shared love of food.
