Kevin G. Norton

Kevin G. Norton, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 9, 2022, at his home in East Walpole, Massachusetts.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 15, 1957, he was the son of the late William P. and Elizabeth A. (Barrows) Norton.  He was raised in East Walpole, Massachusetts, graduating from Walpole High School with the Class of 1975.  Following his graduation, Kevin went on to study Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at Northeast Institute for Technology in Boston. 

Kevin spent some time working in the commercial refrigeration business before changing his career path to the emerging field of computer technology.  He took a position with Leading Edge, a computer company based in Canton, Massachusetts, quickly becoming a specialist in monitor repairs.

In 1991, Kevin decided it was time for a change of scenery, packing his bags and moving to Florida, where he settled in the Tampa area.  He continued his career in computer monitor repairs with a local company, before branching out to form his own repair business, Nortek.  As monitors became less expensive and disposable, Kevin returned to his education and new technology, learning dental laboratory work, CAD design, and medical coding, giving him plenty of options for his future.  He spent some time using his newly acquired skills in a dental lab in Florida, before returning home to East Walpole in 2015.

Throughout his life, Kevin had an interest in how thing work, and by watching his father and grandfather, and studying technical manuals, he became an excellent mechanic.  He could take apart and rebuild his vehicles, from the motor all the way down to the frame.  In more recent years, Kevin taught himself how to manipulate metal, using his welder and plasma cutter, to create anything he needed.  He enjoyed having a project and a problem to solve. Kevin was dedicated to his family, and was a great support to his parents during their final years.

Loving brother of William P. Norton, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Walpole, John J. Norton and his wife, Elizabeth, of Taunton, Brian F. Norton and his wife, Eileen, of Franklin, and Mary Lee Norton of East Walpole.

Cherished uncle of Matthew Norton, Ryan Norton, Colin Norton and his fiancé, Elisa, Sarah Norton-Cuneo and her husband, Anthony, Craig Norton and his wife, Melissa, and Joshua Norton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Kevin's Life Celebration on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 9 to 10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole.  Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
