Leroy P. Jones, Jr.

Leroy "Roy" Jones Jr., 69, of Walpole, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026, following a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family, including his two loyal Saint Bernards, Archie and Marv.

Roy was the husband of Christine Jones, his wife of 35 years. Through every chapter of life, Roy remained a steady presence—someone his family could always count on.

Roy was a retired Massachusetts Department of Corrections Correctional Officer. A hard worker by nature, he spent much of his life working in and around family-owned excavation businesses and never truly slowed down. Most recently, he could be found working alongside his nephews, Kenny and Bob Jones, doing what he enjoyed most—staying busy and spending time with family.

His children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of his life. Roy spent years convincing each of his daughters—Kelsey, Emily, Sara, and Kristina—that she was, in fact, his favorite child. To this day, each remains absolutely certain she was. The truth is that they are all correct.

His grandchildren brought him endless joy. Tanner Jones was his greatest gift, and his best bud. To Hannah Lawson, he was the Ice Cream King. To Andrew Lawson, he was the undisputed master of blowing raspberries. And to Mia, he would forever be "Booty Butt." Though he will not have the opportunity to meet her, the baby Lawson girl on the way will know her Grandpa through the stories shared by those who loved him and through the lasting example of kindness, humor, and unconditional love that he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Jones; his daughters, Kelsey Jones and boyfriend Mike Brennan of Walpole, Emily Lawson and her husband Eric of Mansfield, Sara Jones and her wife Alexa Jones of Wales, and Kristina Jones and her fiancé, Luke Williams of Walpole. Roy and Luke shared a bond that went far beyond future in-laws. Whether it was pre-dawn breakfasts or hours spent watching HGTV together, they genuinely enjoyed each other's company and built a friendship that meant the world to both of them.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tanner Jones, Hannah Lawson, Andrew Lawson, and Mia; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Kathy Browne of Walpole; and his best friend, Andy Twiss and his wife Donna, formerly of Walpole. He leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Kelly McCormack and her husband Sean, Katie Lemieux and her husband Jim, and Carin Dechellis; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Jones, the wife of his late brother Kenneth Jones.

Roy was the son of the late Leroy Jones Sr. and Mary Jones of Walpole and was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Jones. He also leaves behind siblings; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Leroy's visitation on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
