Margaret H. King (Ratti), lovingly known as Peggy to lifelong friends and Nan to her children and grandchildren, passed away peacefully at Angela’s Hospice in Livonia, Michigan, on July 6, 2026, surrounded by her sons.
Born on June 23, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Charles H. Ratti and Margaret H. McCarthy, Margaret graduated from Roslindale High School and later fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.
On September 20, 1959, she married Thomas George “Todd” King, the love of her life. Together they shared a marriage filled with love, laughter, adventure, and companionship, living in several states before settling in Bonita Springs, Florida. Even as Alzheimer’s disease took many memories, Margaret’s love for Todd remained constant. She often said, “I miss my Guy,” and fondly recalled the blind date where he introduced himself by saying, “Hi, I’m Todd.” After Todd’s passing in 2019, Margaret moved to Michigan to be closer to family.
Margaret loved dogs and was happiest with a faithful four-legged companion by her side. Her life was defined by love for her husband, family, animals, and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas George “Todd” King, and her sister, Helen M. Feeney.
She is survived by her children: Thomas George Jr. and Miosha King of Canton, Michigan; Stephen Scott and Kathleen King of Vonore, Tennessee; and Mark Edward and Lana Hadzajlic-King of Lansing, Michigan; her grandchildren, Leslie, Kelly, and Blake King; and her great-grandson, Beckham.
Special thanks to the staff at Angela’s Hospice of Livonia and the doctors of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Margaret's Life visitation on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 from 9:00 am - 9:30 am in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A funeral home service will be held at 9:30 AM with interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
