Margaret Catherine McLean

January 19, 1927 — April 12, 2022

Margaret “Peggy” Catherine McLean, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at the Ellis Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Peggy was the daughter of Manuel J. and Mary V. (McCue) Paivo. She was raised and educated in Jamacia Plain along with her sisters.

Peggy was a homemaker for many years, happily raising her eight children. Once they were old enough, she went out into the workforce, taking up a position with the Suffolk County Courthouse doing custodial work for 28 years. During that time, she also became a Home Health Aide, proudly serving her community for 18 years until her retirement.

She spent her retirement tending to her home, making it welcoming for her family. Peggy enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. She could also be found every Friday morning at the Norwood Sports Center to participate in her bowling league.

Loving mother of Donna Amadeo, and her husband Peter, of Brewster, Margaret Geaney, and her late husband Joseph, of Stoughton, Pamela Francis, and her husband Robert, of Milton, Patricia McGrath, and her husband Jack, of Plymouth, Daniel McLean, and his wife Lori, of Dorchester, Nancy Chace, and her husband Don, of Walpole, David McLean, and his wife Risa, of Quincy and the late Susan McLean.
Cherished grandmother of 18 children and 30 great-grandchildren.
Sister of Mary Paivo of Walpole, the late Anne Sansone, the late Rita Rice and the late Agnes Sutherland.

All services are private at the request of Peggy’s family.
