Mark Frederick Clerici

Mark Frederick Clerici, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Newton, Massachusetts on May 7, 1955, he was the son of Frederick P. and Madeline A. (Paolucci) Clerici. Mark was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts where he was lucky to have a large extended family living nearby. After graduating from Walpole High School with the class of 1973, Mark began a career in tech. He started with phone system installations before shifting to information technology, working within the finance sector for companies such as Bear Sterns and Rockland Trust, retiring in 2022.

Mark married the love of his life, Kimberly Ann Baron, during the summer of 2012 in a beautiful ceremony held within a botanical garden in Bar Harbor, Maine. The couple had met at a Christmas party hosted by mutual friends a decade earlier and eventually moved in together to their home in Norfolk, Massachusetts, before tying the knot. Together they enjoyed spending time in Bar Harbor, hiking, and being with their dogs Gemma, and the late Phoebe.

Family was the most important part of Mark's life. He was close with his sister Janet and her husband Bob, splitting a two-family residence together for sixteen years. This allowed him to be a big part of his niece's lives as they grew up, something he treasured deeply. Mark loved to take Amy and Gillian to Racepoint Beach in the summer where they would fish and drive on the dunes. He was also close with his cousins, even forming a band with a few of them called 'Brother Ralph' with Mark on the drums. Together with Rick, David, Mike, and Rob, they played concerts all around the area and made sure to bring out the crowds when they played at the band stand on the Walpole Town Common. An incredibly outgoing and lively guy, Mark loved getting to know people, and with his cousin Shelly, helped coordinate a huge family reunion, lovingly dubbed "the Big Fat Italian Family Reunion", where he had the opportunity to meet and get to know distant relatives.

In his free time, Mark had many hobbies. An avid outdoorsman, Mark spent many hours in tree stands, hunting game. He was skilled with a shotgun, rifle, muzzleloader, and bow which he used to take down his prey. This led to many delicious game dinners, introducing his nieces to bear burgers, moose ribs, and elk steak. Mark also enjoyed fishing down the Cape Cod Canal and hiking up in Bar Harbor. His love for hunting led Mark to become a gun rights activist, becoming involved with GOAL, the Gun Owners Action League, to advocate for gun owners in New England.

At home, Mark loved relaxing with Gemma. He loved taking her for rides, visiting Petco or the Bass Pro Shop, and going for walks around the Cranberry Trails at Patriot Place. His love for his dogs led Mark to become a member of the Bay State Pomeranian Club. An active member, he often helped out with raffles and events, and made many friends, bonding over their love of the breed.

Loving brother of the late Janet Proctor and her surviving husband Bob of Wrentham.

Cherished uncle of Amy Cann and her husband Kevin of Malden, and Gillian Gill and her husband Edward of Wrentham; great uncle of Lucas and Samson.

Also survived by his beloved Pomeranian Gemma, many loving cousins, extended relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mark's visitation on Saturday, October 17th, 2026, from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A funeral home service will follow at 12:30 pm. Interment will occur privately at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
